Next Stage – Part 2

She knew what she was going to do required a lot of courage. The fear of what would be his answer was there but the prospect of listening to a positive answer overshadowed that fear. Moreover, she wasn’t as much shy as he was. In the meantime, the weather had taken a romantic turn as if even God was pushing her to speak up. The mild gusts of wind brought with them dark clouds that engulfed all of the city. Everyone present there started leaving the park as little droplets of water started hitting the ground but there was one couple which didn’t care about whatever was happening around them.

She got down on one knee while holding his hand. His amazement was clearly visible from his expressions. He started blushing as he was a shy guy. It wasn’t common for a girl to tell a guy about her feelings, let alone proposing him for marriage. He knew what was going to happen next and was totally taken aback by this gesture of hers.

“You remember this is the place where we first met as this fountain was the most iconic thing of this park. Our relationship started from here and I want to take it to the next stage  from this very same place. I am so much in love with you that I never feel you are away from me. I want to grow old with you. I want to have babies with you. I always want to be the reason you smile. Sorry, I am short of words but I wanted to ask just one question. Will you marry me?” she asked with millions of dreams in her eyes

The park was empty by now and it had started raining heavily. Their bodies were wet but the heat of the moment gave them the power to bear it. The little droplets of water covered their entire face that were now glowing with love. 

His eyes were teary. He had goosebumps all over his body. She never saw this glitter in his eyes. She never saw him so happy.

He held her by shoulders and made her stand up. He kept looking at her for sometime like the way she had looked at him, the moment he had told about his feelings to her.

He cupped her face with his hands while looking at her lips. He closed his eyes and moved closer to her lips till they were just an inch away. She gave herself to the moment. He opened his eyes and saw her eyes closed. He went ahead with the flow and kissed her lips while closing his eyes. A chill travelled down her spine the moment their lips touched. It was her turn to get amazed now. The water drops on their lips got lost into each other’s mouth’s. They enjoyed kissing and savouring the taste of each other until a loud thunder broke the silence of the moment. They looked at each other thinking of their stupidity and boldness. They looked around but nobody was there. 

“I think you got the answer you wanted to hear.” he replied winking at her 

Her happiness knew no boundaries as she hugged him tightly. Their wet bodies pressed against each other while their hearts beated fast. He put his one hand over her head and other on her waist while her hands was on his waist.

“I love you so much.” she replied while still in the embrace

“I love you too.” he said while kissing her head and added “Never been so much in love with you”
